Natural Meadow Cobs are the next best thing to fresh grass! Comprising up to 60 species of grasses, wildflowers and herbs, harvested from Pre-Alpine meadows, in southern Germany, they are high in fibre, yet low in sugars and calories, as the plants have been left to mature before cutting. They are then coarsely chopped and high temperature dried, in a facility powered by renewable biomass-fuelled electricity, and pressed into chunky cobs – nothing added, nothing taken away.
Designed to be soaked before feeding, Natural Meadow Cobs sit comfortably alongside Baileys’ other Fibre Range products and can be fed as a total forage replacement for older equines, with poor dentition, who struggle to eat the longer fibres of hay or haylage. But they’re much more versatile than that! The soaking brings out the tempting flavours and aromas of fresh grass, making the cobs ideal for fussy eaters, both as an additional fibre source, alongside forage, and as a tasty base for their normal balancer, mix or cubes.
Indeed, they make a healthy addition to any balanced diet, particularly those with little or no access to grazing, through the winter months. Natural Meadow Cobs are molasses, alfalfa and grain-free and also suitable for adding variety to the calorie-controlled diet of the good-doer, being low in calories, starches and sugars and containing high levels of structural fibre which encourages chewing.
FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONS
Must be soaked before feeding
Add 2 parts water to 1 part Natural Meadow Cobs eg. 2 scoops of water to 1 scoop cobs. (More water can be added if you want to help rehydrate your horse)
Soak time: allow 30 minutes in warm water and 1 hour in cold water.
Ensure the cobs are fully softened before feeding. The aroma and texture of fresh grasses is brought out by soaking, which also helps improve the horse’s hydration levels.
Feed as part of a fully balanced diet. Natural Meadow Cobs contain no added vitamins and minerals so must be fed alongside the recommended amount of a mix, cube or balancer, to ensure a fully balanced diet.
When fed as a total forage replacement ie. when no other forage or grazing is given, feed at a rate of 1.5 – 2kg per 100kg of bodyweight (dry) per day.
When fed in addition to forage and/or hard feed, 0.5 – 1kg per 100kg bodyweight (dry) may be fed per day.
Divide total daily amount into as many smaller feeds, throughout the day, as possible.
A small number of Natural Meadow Cobs can be fed dry, if given as treat, by hand, for example, otherwise we strongly recommend they are soaked before feeding.

- For orders between £50 and £100 with a total weight exceeding 30kg, an additional shipping charge of £3.99 per 30kg increment will apply.
- Orders Over £100 Exceeding 60kg:
- For orders over £100 with a total weight exceeding 60kg, an additional shipping charge of £3.99 per 30kg increment will apply.
Pallet Deliveries
- We can offer pallet deliveries to anywhere on the mainland UK at £75 plus VAT. Please contact us directly to place any bulk orders.
Delivery Details
- Dispatch Times
- We dispatch orders mid-day (12pm) Monday to Friday. Orders placed before 12pm will be processed the same day. Orders placed after 12pm will be processed the next business day.
- Dispatch days exclude weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Delivery Service
- All orders are shipped with DPD's express 1-2 day delivery service.
- Orders placed before 12pm on a Friday will be delivered over the weekend (Saturday or Sunday).
- Extended Lead Times
- Due to the nature of our business, there may be extended lead times for certain items. Every effort will be made to deliver all products by the agreed date.
- If no tracking details are received within 48 hours, please contact us.
- Order Issues
- If there is anything wrong with the items once they have been received, please contact us within 24 hours of the consignment being signed for so that we can rectify the problem.
- Holiday Delays
- Due to the volume of orders during Christmas, Easter, and Bank Holidays, please be aware that there may be delays in processing orders over these periods.

Highland & Islands: Standard shipping on all orders is £15.99 for every 30kg and is for express 2-3 day shipping with DPD, although please be aware that the cut off to place orders is 11am Monday to Friday, anytime after then will be collected the following day.
How do I return an item?
In accordance with The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you are entitled to cancel an order and receive a full refund up to 14 calendar days after you receive the item from us. This applies even if you change your mind and no longer want an item. The refund will include the minimum postage costs you could have chosen when placing your order. You are responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. You must notify us of your intention to cancel the order and you must return the item to us by recorded delivery within 14 days of notifying us. We will then refund your money within 14 days of receipt of a returned item. It is your duty to take all reasonable care of any items to be returned, including their packaging, up until the time we receive them back from you. Any damage will result in us being unable to refund part or all of the money you have paid.
Items that cannot be returned
Perishable items i.e. temperature controlled food/medication
Medication – due to regulatory law, we cannot accept the return of any medication, including licensed and prescription items
Items that have been opened/used (unless found to be faulty.)
The 14 day limit to request a refund does not apply to any item which is faulty, unfit for purpose, or not as described at the time you placed the order. For damaged and faulty items, you have 30 days to arrange a return/refund.
For all items returned after the 14-day period, you are asked to provide a written explanation of the reason for the return. Returned items in this circumstance may or may not be due a full refund, depending on the circumstances. (For example if you used an item for a while before it broke, you may have to bear some of the cost for the period of time you were able to use it.) In normal circumstances, the limit of our liability for compensation for orders which are delayed or do not arrive at all, will be the value of the order placed. You will not be due for any additional compensation (for instance if you decided to take time off work to receive the order).
